Anatolian Farmers' Council

A rights-based body that carries farmers' voices to local and national decision-makers. In project documents it is also referred to as the Agriculture Council of Farmers (ACF).

What is it?

Bringing farmers' voices to decision-makers

The Anatolian Farmers' Council (AÇM) is a structure established under the "Precision Farming for a Greener Tomorrow: Advocating for Sustainable Agriculture" project. It is a rights-based monitoring and advocacy mechanism that enables farmers to convey their experiences, views and suggestions on agricultural policy directly to decision-makers. The aim is to bring real data from the field into policymaking processes and to make farmers' voices heard.

How does it work?

  • Local policy dialogues: meetings in the project provinces with farmers, relevant public institutions and local stakeholders, organised around the planning, harvest and marketing stages of agricultural production
  • National policy dialogues: review meetings with the Ministry and policymakers at national level
  • Reports: reports for policymakers and civil society that compile problems, needs and proposed solutions from the field
  • Opinion form: an online form through which any farmer can anonymously share their views on their province, crop and the impact of policies
