The Training of Trainers (ToT) on Smart and Precision Farming Practices under Conditions of Climate Change and Water Scarcity, organised within the scope of the “Precision Farming for a Greener Tomorrow: Advocating for Sustainable Agriculture” project led by the International Confederation of Agriculture and Food, will take place in Ankara on 8–12 May 2026.
In the face of the effects of water constraints and climate change on agricultural production, the training programme aims to strengthen the capacity of farmers and stakeholders working in agriculture to adapt to smart and precision farming practices. The programme will cover, both theoretically and in practice, sustainable, smart and precision farming practices; the effects of climate change on soil and water resources; methods for increasing agricultural water efficiency; and innovative practices such as precision irrigation, sensor-based monitoring, data-supported decision-making, automation systems and drone-assisted field observation.
Candidates attending the training are expected to complete the LMS training modules offered under the project before the face-to-face training programme. The relevant LMS training modules can be accessed via the following link: https://www.lms.surdurulebilirhasat.org.tr (opens in a new tab). This preparatory process will enable participants to start the programme with a common level of knowledge and will help them benefit more from the hands-on sessions during the face-to-face training.
The training programme will be held at the Ankara International Akar Hotel, and participants' accommodation, transport, and food and beverage expenses will be covered by the project. Places are limited to 25 participants, and priority will be given to students of faculties of agriculture and to farmers in the evaluation of applications. Sessions will start at 10.00 each day and continue until 16.00. The detailed training programme will be shared separately with applicants.
